C&L put up this video of Majority leader Boehner's appearance on This Week. In it he states:

"And defeating al Qaeda there is important, because if we were to pull out before we win, we will embolden every terrorist in every corner of the world, and then instead of fighting them in Iraq, we'll be fighting them on every street in America."

This is truly terrifying stuff.

So I got to thinking: Just how many al Queda agents would they need in order that we "fight them on every street?" Well, there are a quite a few Main Streets in the US. A Google map search turned up over seventeen million hits (click to enlarge):



Of course, this search returned multiple hits for the same street, so I don't think al Queda needs to recruit seventeen million jihadists.

According to another study I found online, there are approximately four million miles of roads in the US. So let's say, oh, I don't know, how about one terrrorist per mile? So that's four million jihadists, each of whom has his own stretch of two-lane black-top to terrorize, kind of like that highway beautification program. "This streach of highway terrorized by al Queda sleeper cell #2,278,341. Please drive safely."

And Boehner is the number two man in the Republican house leadership. Comforting, no?
