What is Hashgraph?¶
Hashgraph is essentially blockchain’s cooler, faster cousin. It boasts the same distributed, transparent, and secure qualities but with some serious upgrades. Energy Saver: Hashgraph’s consensus algorithm doesn’t require the massive computing power (and energy consumption) of Bitcoin or Ethereum. It’s a greener alternative for the environmentally conscious.
Fair Play: Blockchain miners can manipulate transaction order, potentially delaying or even blocking them. Hashgraph’s “consensus time stamping” prevents this, ensuring a fair and transparent system.
Byzantine Fault Tolerance: Hashgraph is designed to withstand even the most malicious attacks. It makes no assumptions about network speed, making it resistant to DDoS attacks, botnets, and other threats. Bitcoin doesn’t have this level of resilience.
Efficiency Expert: In blockchain, “stale” blocks are sometimes discarded, wasting computational effort. Hashgraph utilizes every piece of information, maximizing efficiency.
